A good laugh...

I was on this blog...if you haven't been to her site before then you must.go.now. She's quite talented and has awesome recipes. I was on her blog and clicked on this post and all I can say is...I can totally relate and all I can do is...laugh. So if you need a good laugh, go read this post.

I recently made her salsa...YUM! Let everything marinate after you make it, and if you don't like a lot of spice then only put half the jalapeno in. I usually can't handle spicy stuff, but I'm addicted to it and ate so much this afternoon that I actually got a tummy ache.

Integrity...how to teach our children

I came across this site today: Kids of Integrity: Christian Parenting Tips and Resources. I haven't looked at the entire site yet, but it's interesting that I happened to come across this site when lately I've been more concerned than usual at how I am training my children. By my example, through devotions, etc. etc. I mean, I am always concerned about this, but as parents with toddlers and infants we don't always realize that even at a really young age our children notice every act we do and every word we say. One thing that has been bothering me a lot lately is how Isaac seems to tune me out whenever I'm talking to him. It's hard to tell if he is intentionally doing this or just too deep in thought and really doesn't hear me. For me it can be quite aggravating. I don't want to become that yelling mother that her kids just tune her out because all they hear is yelling. I've tried getting his attention by getting down to his level, getting him to look me in the eyes and talking to him that way. But it doesn't seem to be working. They have a lesson on this site about having your child put on their "listening ears" that I think I might try. We'll see if it works.
There are some interesting tips on this site that I thought others might be interested in. Just thought I'd pass it along.
