My Baby Girl is 3 months already!

Abby turned 3 months on Sunday.  My little girl is growing up WAY too quickly.  Here are a few pictures I’ve taken of her recently.

Isaac turns Four!

221814_7783672225_538702225_296578_219_n

4 years ago today this sweet, little boy made me a mom. I’ll never forget that last month of pregnancy and the lllllloooooonnnnnngggg delivery (15 hours) and then the 4 days in the hospital afterward, due to my high blood pressure, and the 5 weeks after that of trying to get it back to normal. Through it all, he was a trooper though. The picture above was my favorite way to hold him. He loved to snuggle. He was a big boy, born 8lbs 14 oz. But I loved all his chubbiness and until he started to walk, he kept getting chubbier. I remember when we got home from the hospital, Joe & I looked at each other and said “Now what?” This little baby was ours to take care of and our responsibility. What a great calling it is to be a parent. I am so thankful God is the one who is leading and guiding us along because He is the only one who can work in the heart of our little boy and turn him to Jesus. I pray that God will be in our little boys heart and that Isaac will live his life glorifying our Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord for this wonderful, sweet boy that you have given to us.

Here is on his first day of school at LMPC MDO (in Joyful Giraffes).

I love this kid.

He is very energetic, full of energy, a loud talker, talks non-stop about anything and everything, loves and adores his baby brother, loves going on outings with daddy, he’s quite the social kid and always has been, loves bugs and dinosaurs and cars, has quite the imagination and often thinks what he’s saying is true even though it is not even possible, he loves school, and most of all he loves Jesus.

For his treats tomorrow we are going to make cake pops. Check out the recipe here. You can actually make little animals out of them, but I’m going the easier route since this is my first time making them. Check out this site for more cake pop ideas. Also, here is a helpful video on how they are made.

Happy Birthday, Isaac!!!

My birthday boy..Seth – 1 year!

Seth-30

Seth-39

I can’t believe my baby is 1 already!  This is not only a celebration of his birth, but also of getting through this past year and all the changes our family has gone through.  We made it through this year.  Praise the Lord!

Seth has no idea what all happened, but it will be a year to remember that’s for sure.  It’s sad to think he won’t ever remember living in Indiana or living near his grandparents…but he will have many happy memories of living here in GA.

Seth at 1 year:

- Says: momma, da-da, Ia-it (for Isaac), Uh-oh, All-done

- Does: So Big (arms up in the air), Waves Bye Bye, Motions All-Done

-Crawls all over and can pull himself up onto his knees and is trying to pull himself onto his feet

- Loves to snuggle and Sleeps Really Well (a huge improvement over when he was 8 mos and under)

- Adores his big brother Isaac and lately says his name ALL of the time

We are so blessed to have him as apart of our family.  God has blessed us more than we could ever imagine and we are so thankful that he gave us this adorable little boy.

He’s on the move…

This past week Seth finally learned to crawl.  I feel like so many other babies that I know that are around the same age or younger have been crawling for weeks or even months already.  He never liked being on his tummy and once he learned to sit up that was all he wanted to do.  For awhile I thought he would just scoot around but just recently he started to get on all fours and rock back and forth.  Then this past Sunday night he got his arms and legs going together and crawled a little ways.  Now he is all over the place and into his brother's toys.  Isaac isn't so sure about this and yesterday he told me that Seth needed to just stay on my lap.  That was his solution to keeping Seth out of his stuff.  I told Isaac that he just better get used to this because this is how it's going to be from now on.  Seth will always be his little brother and he will quite often be into his things.  Soon they will hopefully learn how to play together and share...right? :)   It has been fun watching these two interact and actually play together at times.  What fun they will have as they grow up together!
We've been sick around here for the past week and a half.  Head colds, runny nose, ick, ick, ick...  Hopefully we will all be better so we can go to church as a family this Sunday.  We haven't been able to do that for several weeks now because one of us has always been sick.  Stay healthy! Have a blessed weekend!

My baby is growing up…

Venema Xmas-43

Seth turned 10 months old this past Sunday. I can’t believe that in less than 2 months he will be 1 year old! How can that be? He is what we call our extreme child….extremely happy or crazy mad and screaming. It has been a joy to watch him grow and develop. I will be taking him in for his “9 month” checkup this Friday. Between Christmas vacation, moving and then a snow storm his checkup got delayed. So we will find out how much he weighs then. He is starting to get mobile. Trying to crawl, but doesn’t have the coordination down yet. He is trying though, so I’m not too concerned that he’s a little delayed than most babies his age. He has started to say “momma.” It’s so cute to hear, but the only times he has said it is when he is whining for me and wants to be held. He is now starting to be a good sleeper. Sleeping all night long, most nights and taking two naps a day. It has taken a long time for him to be a good sleeper, but now that he is I am really liking it. Seth adores his brother, Isaac. They have started to really interact with each other and even playing together a bit. Seth would let Isaac do anything to him and I often have to remind Isaac that Seth is still a baby and he has to be gentle. Sitting on top of him or pulling him by his arm or leg to get him to move is not a good thing to do to his little brother.

We are so blessed to have Seth in our lives and it will be fun to watch him to continue to grow. May God bless our children and may we as parents strive to lead our children in the Lord, so by His grace, they will grow up to love the Lord with all their heart.

3 years old!!!

How did 3 years pass by so quickly?  My little boy is 3 years old??? How can that be??  Isaac was born at 6:01am after 16 hours of labor.  He was due Nov 3 and arrived 3 days early.  He was a big baby, 8 lb 14 oz., with big hands and big feet and a big head.  He grew to be quite the chubby baby too.  But now at 3 years old, he is only big in height.  He has lost all that baby fat and become a tall, skinny boy.

It’s amazing how a child can change your life so much!  It has been such a joy to have him in our life.  Watching him grow and learn new things has been such a blessing.

He has a doctor appt on Monday, so we will see what he weighs and how tall he is.  Isaac currently enjoys:

- “playing” with his little brother (he can be a bit rough and can’t wait for Seth to be able to play with him)

- cars, trucks, trains, dinosaurs, tools, balls, bugs, animals, puddles, dirt, all the things boys are into

- he knows the first 21 questions to the shorter children’s catechism, loves listening to Bible stories, can almost pray the Lord’s Prayer, and knows lots of songs, and recently we found out that he has memorized most of the books we read him at bedtime (we usually read the same ones every night – he gets to pick from 5 of them).

- he loves to sing and gets really excited if we sing a song in church or he hears a song on a cd or the radio that he knows and starts singing along

-he is VERY social (not sure where this came from because I have never been the talkative one – Isaac will talk to anyone that walks by)

- he loves cake, candy, especially chocolate, but anything sweet

I got quite teary eyed when I checked on him after he went to bed tonight.  I am so thankful for my two boys (even though they may drive me crazy sometimes).  Thank you Lord for blessing me so much!

Isaac - 2 year pics

I realized I never posted Isaac's 2 year pictures. I still can't believe he's 2 years old. Currently he is quite the talker and often puts together sentences that I didn't even realized he understood how those words went together. He LOVES animals and isn't scared of them one bit. A few weeks ago we were invited over to a couple that has goats, geese, chickens and a dog. Isaac was so excited. He even rode a goat - with help of course. He wasn't scared at all. He probably would have stayed in the goat pen all afternoon but it was kind of a rainy day so we couldn't stay out long. He was really upset by this. I didn't get pictures because of the rain, so we'll have to go another time so I can take some pictures of him there. He can count to 10 and sing the A,B,C's. He is learning his colors, but quite often every color is green but sometimes he does change it up a bit but usually gets them wrong. He loves to read and could sit on your lap all day reading books. His is very social and enjoys playing with other kids. He has become a bit bossy at times and likes to tell us and others "No...." in a very adamant voice. When he's tired he quite often will curl up on the couch with a cup of milk and snuggle next to mommy or daddy. We treasure those moments since he doesn't sit still very often. Here are his two year pictures.

Happy 2nd Birthday Isaac!

Two years ago today at 6:01am Isaac was born. He was a health 8lb 15 oz big boy that took 16 hours to be delivered. Since that day our life has been changed forever for the best. We couldn't have been blessed with a more wonderful little boy. He has the biggest smile, and the biggest personality you will ever see. He is super social (not sure where he gets that from) and loves to sing and dance and he just enjoys life. It has been amazing watching him grow the past two years and see all his accomplishments so far. I am so grateful to be his mommy. Isaac, may God bless you in the years to come. I wish the best for you and you will always be my sweet little boy.

Isaac: 18 mos pictures

I had Isaac's 18 months pictures taken last Saturday. A dear friend of mine, who is 18 weeks pregnant, was willing to take his pictures for me. Isaac was not in a sitting/posing mood. He just wanted to run and point out everything in their yard and play. So my dear, pregnant friend got her exercise running after him for an hour. Here are the ones I liked best. He isn't really smiling in any of them since he wouldn't sit still. He has this inquisitive look on his face...it's kind of cute. It was hard to get a pose of him looking straight at the camera since he wanted to explore everything around him. I'm having a hard time deciding what to pick. Let me know what one you like best.
