My morning…

This is what I emailed my husband this morning...  (This all happened after I dropped him off at school.  Since we only have one car I bring him to school the days I need the car.)
----------------------------------------------------------
Want to know how my morning has gone?  Well, let me tell you. :)

Seth threw up on the way home.  I think he drank his milk too fast when it was spilling all over (due to the fact I forgot to add a piece to the top of his bottle that would have prevented this from happening) or I gave him too much since I thought most of it spilled and he threw it all up on the way home.  As I'm taking his clothes off and getting his clothes and the car seat cover in the wash Isaac says he has to pee.  He's standing at the top of the stairs and I told him to come downstairs to pee.  He comes down and I find out he peed already.  All over the floor at the top of the stairs and it dripped off of him on his way down the steps so the steps all have drips of pee on them.  Seth is sitting in a diaper at the moment which is leaking poop out of the side.  Isaac's pants are covered in pee. And the Connor kids are due to arrive at any moment.  Thankfully Paula came with the kids this morning and showed up right as I had everything cleaned up and the boys were both changed, etc.
Now I'm doing more laundry since now I have mounds of it.  I ran the car seat cover through once already and it didn't get totally cleaned so I have to wash it again.  I need to leave soon so I can bring the stuff I'm selling to the consignment shop...  Thankfully Seth is now napping and the carseat cover should be clean soon...hopefully.
So aren't you glad you weren't able to stay home this morning.  I bet teaching is better than this :)
Love you,
Rachael

Joe's response: This sounds pretty similar to my morning at school.
(He teaches Juniors and Seniors in High School... :)

Yep, it was one of "those" kinds of mornings.  So glad the rest of the day has gone much better and I even stopped at McDonald's for lunch with the boys on the way home from going to the consignment shop.  This afternoon I have a meeting with the pastor at the church we've been attending.  They are looking for a part time secretary and some of the work I could do from home.  I'm really hoping this works out.

For now I leave you with this song that a friend of mine posted and I just have to share it:

This Mommy Needs Help!

I think I'm going to try to potty train Isaac starting tomorrow, using the 3 day potty training guide...gulp. I'm not super confident this will work, but everything else I've tried recently just isn't working. I know a lady I used to work with tried this with her boys and it worked out really well and I just recently came across a blog post where a mom tried it with her son and it worked. I've tried putting Isaac on the potty every hour and it wouldn't go for me. In the past two weeks of trying he has only actually gone on the potty 4 times. Currently any time I put him on to go, he immediately wants to get off. I've done the sticker rewards system and even offered toys, but he doesn't seem to care. So now I'm desperate. He'll be 3 in October and just seems too big to be wearing diapers. So mom's, please help. I need some encouragement. Any potty training tips would be helpful as well. I know boys are often slower at this sort of thing, but I'm determined to get this kid trained :) (Okay, I'm sounding more confident that I really am... )What am I getting myself into???!!! Hopefully by the end of the week I can post about how excited I am that Isaac is potty trained... I'm putting this post on here to make myself actually do this. I need to be accountable somewhere otherwise I think I'll give up before I even start. Oh dear... starting tomorrow morning I'll be hopefully starting the 3 day potty training plan my son...we'll see how this goes. I really, really hate this sort of thing...
I leave you with this silly song/video I found on youtube.
UPDATE - Day 1: 6 accidents, plus 2 times in the potty and with him letting me know that he had to go (these were the last two of the day) = we will try again tomorrow. Plus he woke up from his nap dry too! Hoping the last two times of him telling me he had to go means that's progress. We'll see how tomorrow goes.
Day 2: Woke up to accident #1 - he peed the bed. Weird since he has been waking up with dry diapers and I didn't allow him any drinks after supper. He had 2 accidents after that and then after his nap he woke up, had a drink, and then told me he had to go potty. Yay! The next time he started to go and stopped and made it to the toilet to go the rest. And since then has told me he has to go. Praying this continues and hoping he doesn't wet the bed again. We'll see what Day #3 brings. I'm exhausted and really hope he's catching on. I think we need a day out of the house...hoping that can happen soon.

Cars: Love 'em or Hate 'em

I've had an interesting day. It all started on my way to bring Isaac to my friend's house. My car started overheating. Funny thing is we were planning on dropping it off at the shop this afternoon to get looked at before we head to FL in a few weeks. So my dear friend, Eryn, threw both her son and Isaac in her car and followed me to the shop to drop the car off. Then delivered me to work. Work was insanely busy since we are getting ready for a seminar this evening at another branch and all the other normal stuff...just extra busy. I went out for lunch with some ladies from work to celebrate a co-workers birthday and then had them drop me off at Eryn's and she would bring Isaac and me home. Little did she know she left her lights on this morning (since she had to take two boys out of her car and she's 17 weeks pregnant...she's amazing!) and her car battery was dead. Since both of our husbands were busy teaching classes she called her dad - he's so awesome. He tried jumping her car with his, but it didn't work. So he nicely brought Isaac & I....well, first to the car shop to get my house keys I had left on the key ring (which I thought I had done and they ended up being in my purse after I all - but I didn't dare tell him for fear of him thinking I'm quite the ditz). He then dropped Isaac & I at home and he returned to work. I don't know what we would do without our car, but I really hate car trouble and dealing with it all. They really should make you take car repair classes in high school so you could fix your own car - I guess that would mean we'd have to have all the right tools then also. Ughhhh!!! Cars can be so frustrating. Thanks to Eryn and her dad Isaac & I were safely brought home and now are stranded until we get the car back. Which is fine because now I'm forced to stay home and not worry about all the errands I need to run, etc. Maybe I'll try to get some scrapbooking done...we'll see.
