Just wanted to show you what Isaac knows. I love how he is cuddling with his daddy. He loves to look at books and say what everything is. It's so fun to see how much he is learning every day. He is growing up so fast.

Isaac: 18 mos pictures
I had Isaac's 18 months pictures taken last Saturday. A dear friend of mine, who is 18 weeks pregnant, was willing to take his pictures for me. Isaac was not in a sitting/posing mood. He just wanted to run and point out everything in their yard and play. So my dear, pregnant friend got her exercise running after him for an hour. Here are the ones I liked best. He isn't really smiling in any of them since he wouldn't sit still. He has this inquisitive look on his face...it's kind of cute. It was hard to get a pose of him looking straight at the camera since he wanted to explore everything around him. I'm having a hard time deciding what to pick. Let me know what one you like best.

Kids Songs
I happened to be clicking around on different blog tonight (you know how you end up looking at a post on one blog and then get linked to another and then that one links you to another and your curiosity is sparked so you just keep going and you end up on some really random person's blog). Well I ended up finding these kids songs cds referenced on someone's blog and I thought that they were interesting. These cds set kids songs to kind of pop culture tunes. Right now I have several cds that I play for Isaac in the car from Bible Hymns to Toddler Songs to Classical Instrumental Tunes. I thought these were interesting because they have tunes that I might like but I'm not sure Isaac would like them because he really likes the kid sounding ones. Just curious what other peoples thoughts were on these cds. Do you think Isaac will like them? (I will admit a few songs are weird, but the tunes are fun) Click on the link and listen to the tunes and make a comment, please. :)

Watching My Garden Grow
I planted my seeds in my garden 2 weeks ago and some of them are starting to come up. I think it's the peas, but we'll see when they get bigger. I also constructed another raised bed on Saturday and a friend is giving me some dirt to fill it with tomorrow. I'm so excited. The seeds I planted are green beans, carrots, peas, and yellow beans and I'm planning on planting some plants in the other box. Hopefully several tomato plants and some pepper plants - enough to make some yummy homemade salsa this summer. I also planted some strawberry plants and a raspberry bush behind our shed. Here are a few pictures of what my garden looks like now.

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mom's out there. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Last night my little boy took me out for dinner and his daddy went along too. But as Joe said "Isaac is taking you out for dinner, I'm just tagging along." We had a gift card to TGI Friday's, so we decided to go there. I had a wonderful sizzling chicken and shrimp meal and a fun outing to Menards. Isaac was in a great mood. Of course he did all the usual kid things when we are out: saying Hi to anyone that passes us or looks in his direction, throws crayons or food on the floor, gets food everywhere and is quite loud in the restaurant. I still had a fun time with my two boys. It was nice not having to cook. Today we will go to my in-laws house and have a lovely dinner with the family. So far the weather looks beautiful and it's going to be a fun day. I better go start my motherly duties and get some breakfast for my boy.
These pictures below are ones of my new flowers and plants that I considered my Mother's Day gift.

bird pecking at my window
Lately we've had this crazy bird pecking at our bathroom window. The first day I heard the sound I thought it was a tree branch blowing in the wind and hitting our window. I kept thinking "I really need to trim that tree." After it kept happening over and over I finally went and looked out the window and saw this bird. He (I'm assuming it's a he) kept sitting in the tree and then would all of sudden fly at the window and peck it a few times and then sit back in the tree. The bird would start this around 5:30am and continue to do it all day until around 6:30pm or so. I posted my thoughts about this crazy bird on facebook and a friend suggested putting a picture of an owl in the window. I put an 8-1/2" x 11" size picture of this owl in the window last night and haven't seen the bird since. I actually haven't seen any birds anywhere near that window. They must really be scared. Here is the picture of the owl - he's quite threatening isn't he? I'm so thankful that crazy bird is gone. I don't like to hurt animals but he was testing my patience :)

What's up lately....
I just thought I'd put a little update about what I've been up to lately since I've been too busy to take some fun pictures and come up with a fun blog post. Isaac was sick the last week. Today he seems almost back to himself, except for being VERY clingy and emotional. Poor little guy had an ear infection and a horrible cold. His eyes were all matted and his nose was runny and he had an awful cough. Thankfully he is almost finished with his meds and he seems to be pretty much better. I'm glad he's almost done with the medicine because it gives him the awful poops (sorry for these details...it's all part of being a mom). It was so bad today that he had an explosion while I was at a friend's house and I had to give him a bath there. Too bad I didn't have my camera with because she had one old pair of shorts and shirt that were three times his size but somehow managed to stay on him....it was really funny. Just imagine him wearing shorts that were as long as pants and a shirt that could almost be a dress on him. We were 30 min from home and I had errands to run after this so we went to Target and bought him a new shirt and shorts. We also had a few interesting moments in Target. One moment was where I had given him a bag of fish crackers and after he ate a few he then decided to fling the bag up and down and the crackers went flying all over the aisle. I'm thinking...What does a mom do at this point? I'd need a broom to clean it all up and there is no way I can pick them all up by hand. So I carefully slid them (or most of them) to the side of the isle so hopefully they wouldn't be crunched by someone's feet and I went on my way. Was this bad of me? I figured that at some point a store clerk would see it and get a broom and take care of it. Isaac at that point was done shopping and really needed a nap. Oh the things we mom's go through.
After we got home Isaac took a nap and I went outside and finished planting my flowers. My dear friend, Heidi, helping me buy and plant most of my flowers yesterday. I then came inside to finish putting everything away and picking up the house, etc. Isaac slept 2 hours and woke up quite crabby. He has been very attached to me....so attached that I can barely walk away from him without him running after me and begging to be held. I'm thinking this has to do with him being sick or he might also be cutting his 2 year molars already. I just want my happy little boy back. I'm sure it's just a phase and he'll be back to his happy self soon. We can only hope.
Isaac is now sitting on my lap and quite content to just stay here. I think he and I will go sit and cuddle on the couch for awhile. I do love it when he likes to snuggle.
(I realize this isn't much of an update...but it's all for now). Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day!
