Seth is 2 weeks and 2 days old today. I took him to his doctor appointment this afternoon and he now weighs 8lbs. and is 21 inches long. I'm a little concerned because I thought he should weigh more than that. The Friday after he was born he weighed 7lbs 14 oz, so that means he's only gained 2 ounces in 2 weeks? The doctor is having us come back in 2 weeks to check his weight again. I thought he was eating well, but just not as much as Isaac did when he was born but Isaac was a really good eater and probably ate more often than most babies. I'm hoping this isn't anything to be concerned about and our little Seth will continue to grow and developed just as he should. He has been a really good baby and has been sleeping well at night. He has at least one 4 hour stretch and then up every 2-3 hours.
Isaac had a great time at the doctor today. He said hello to everyone on our way in and on our way out. He is so social. He got a sucker and a pin wheel and it was a super windy day so he had a lot of fun with that. It is so fun to watch him get so excited about little things and he is amazed by everything he sees. As the nurse was weighing and checking Seth's temp, Isaac was asking what everything was. I was just thankful he did really well during the checkup because it was an hour past his normal nap time and you never know what kind of mood he'll be in when he's tired. Thankfully all went well and we'll be back there again in 2 weeks.

Do you know how much weight he lost after birth? Some babies lose more than others before they go home from the hospital and then they have more to go before they start gaining. My Sarah didn't lose anything, but Elise did - they were just different. Hope he keeps gaining!
3 days after he was born he was down to 7 lbs 14 oz and has only gained 2 ounces back in 2 weeks. I'm a little freaked out by it, the dr said I shouldn't worry and to bring Seth back in 2 weeks and we'll see if he's gained more back by then.
I can't remember if you said you were breastfeeding or not, but this can play into it as well-- especially if it takes 3-5 days for your milk to come in. Don't sweat it, he looks great!!
Look at him!!! He's beautiful and certainly looks strong. Glad to hear that Isaac has adjusted so well!
